  • A Waiheke elopement

I love to photograph elopements, so simple, heartfelt and incredibly romantic to head away and get married. just the two of you.

On a stormy summers afternoon ( a passing cyclone ) in a remote corner of Waiheke Island Ben & Sarah chose to tie the knot at the cottage they were staying at ...nestled into the hillside right by the waters edge.

They had travelled from London here to New Zealand, where Sarah had spent her youth growing up.

Sarah did her own hair & makeup, and Ben set up the cermeony scene with driftwood off the beach and when i left them they had a local chef come and prepare them a delicious degustation menu matched with Waiheke wines.

    So simple, so beautiful.

  • Ryan & Melissa Oakura Bay villa

Ryan & Melissa's wedding was one BEAUTIFUL wedding - from its styling ( decorations, zoned areas like the beachside bars & lounge, kids zone, and lawn games) the setting (quintessential kiwi villa on a private beach, complete with marquee, food truck and live music from The Hipstamatics) AND also in the heartfelt nature of the wedding.

Melissa & Rhyan tied the knot with their 2 children Maddison & Mitchell by their side, along with their 2 dogs and family & friends all set against the stunning backdrop of the Oakura Bay villa in what is affectionately known to the locals as "Honeymoon Bay", its fair to say it was one very stylish and fun celebration.

  • Dimitri & Carlie's Mudbrick Wedding

Dimitri & Carlie married in February at the beautiful Mudbrick vineyard, under a hot summers sky they tied the knot in front of family from Russia & NZ, and many friends from across the globe.

I really enjoy showcasing the day in a selection of photos to show start to the end, and also to credit all the many suppliers that go into making the couples day so special.

An absoulte highlight was seeing their amazing coreographed dance routine as a total surprise to their guests stopping the music part way into the first waltz... they danced their socks off seamlessly through many genres of dance from swing, rock n roll to hip hop... Good times !

  • Kevin & Camilla's Mudbrick vineyard

Kevin & Camilla along with their friends and family from Scotland and across the globe celebrated their wedding in February at the beautiful Mudbrick vineyard.

They had a fun day filled with much smiling & laughter ..  and the laughs kept flowing to the evening full of hilarious speeches (one being a sing-along affair).

It was fabulous "kneesup", and i wish them much happiness always!

  • Shane & Andrea's Waiheke elopement

Shane & Andrea got in touch from Colorado where they were hatching a plan to elope to Waiheke Island with the local help of Coco Lily events, and then do some travelling around NZ afterwards.

All i can say is i am SO gald they contacted me, they are such a beautiful couple and in a very Waiheke Island turn of events they randomly booked our air BnB barn to extend their stay ...and so we got to hang out a bit and have a celebratory wine or two on my deck.

We had SUCH a great shoot from getting ready and having their "first look " at the amazing and aptly named Church House, we then headed out for photos at Onetangi beach, then onwards to say their vows ( which were beautifully handwritten !) to each other in the awe inspiring Forest & Bird reserve with its magestic towering pohutakawas..and once the sun had disappeared and the bubbles savoured.. off they went back for a delicious degustation meal cooked by a local chef at their holiday house.

    Magical in every way.
